Your loss is a great loss for University of Gondar and Your Students. My success stories would have been nothing without your contributions. You were a real Ethiopian and my fatherly hearted life mentor. It was a shocking news hearing your loss. I am sure God will keep your soul in heaven forever. Your will always stay in my thoughts and heart. I will always think of you in my prayers. May God also give the strength and Condolences to Dr. Asege and all families and friends. Missing your smiles!!

Prof Reissig was a giant not just in Anatomy, but in how to help others using his expertise, experience and passion. That is how he connected with Gondar College of Medical Sciences since its early days in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Many of us from that era know him very well. I was among the lucky ones who attended the 40 year anniversary of the partnership between Universities of Leipzig & Gondar , in the city of Leipzig in September 2019 and spent great quality time with him and others. He has educated and inspired many both in Germany & Ethiopia and he will be remembered for ever. I hope the University of Gondar recognizes him in permanent and fitting way! Rest in Peace Prof Reissig.
